LOST

A CONTEMPORARY INSTALLATION INSPIRED BY UNCERTAINTY

LOST,22

LOST is a powerful installation piece created to depict a feeling we all encounter and rarely discuss. The feeling of being lost. Created to showcase the portrayal of not knowing your next move in life. Whether that feeling formed from a simple turn of life’s events or even a traumatic circumstance. LOST carefully represents that feeling during a time of uncertainty. Depicted in this piece is a large seemingly endless span of water. At the corner of this piece stands a young and somber figure. This figure stands looking to the horizon of water, contemplating where to go next. And perhaps how to get there. Looking below the surface we notice the vast depth ahead. As well as the footing on which the figure stands. This footing is slanted and is made of crumbling concrete and rebar. A metaphor for how loose and unstable our mental foundation can be when forced to make these decisions.

LOSTII, 22 . This smaller version of the original installation was created as a memorial to those who have lost their battle to mental health. Casted glass, aluminum, and hammered stainless steel make up the piece.
